Yoga Nidra for Health

is a state of conscious deep sleep. One appears to be sleeping but the unconscious mind is functioning at a deeper level. Since Yoga Nidra involves an aimless and effortless relaxation it is often held to be best practised with an experience Yoga Nidra teacher who verbally delivers instructions.

Yoga Nidra induces the relaxation response, our body’s own healing state where revitalization and regeneration occurs.  The practice of Yoga Nidra has been found to reduce tension and anxiety and has the power to transform core negative beliefs in our deepest levels of being.  This improves not only our outlook, but also our health and happiness!

This particular Yoga Nidra for Health session will start with a brief conversation about our views of health, illness and the words we use and the actions we take.  What is the conversation we are having with ourselves?  Are our words translating into our “intentions”, in to our actions, into our destiny…our health?    This brief discussion will be followed by a short Meditation for perfect health, followed by a beautiful, very gentle Yoga asana practice.  Once in Sivasana, covered up and comfortable, you will be guided into that deep place of rest… just like the photo suggests.  This is truly a gift to self.  Go ahead- pamper yourself!
